Making weather data more useful.
An independent weather intelligence project with a public website showing frozen forecasts, evidence, historical verification, and observational market comparisons.
See the real project
The public PrecipIQ Labs website shows issued weather forecasts, resolved-outcome performance, forecast evidence, and read-only comparisons with prediction markets. Its displayed data and system-health indicators are time-specific. Verify the timestamps and status on the live site; market observations are not guaranteed predictions or recommendations.
This portfolio page also retains a separate fictional sandbox below; its sample numbers do not come from the live platform.
PrecipIQ · Forecast comparison sandbox
Explore illustrative forecast scenarios. These numbers are intentionally fictional and do not represent live weather data or validated PrecipIQ output.
Illustrative data only. No weather API or real forecast is being queried.
Why I'm building it
Forecasting is a good engineering challenge because uncertainty is unavoidable. The interesting part is finding useful signals, comparing predictions with observations, and being clear about confidence.
The approach
The public PrecipIQ Labs site makes issued forecasts inspectable, tracks resolved outcomes, and separates weather probabilities from independently refreshed market observations. It also exposes evidence and operational status. These are observable site features, not independently verified performance guarantees.
The source repository is private. This page shares the public-facing concept only.
Curiosity is a work in progress.
